Councilor Code of Ethics
Code of Ethics for Members of Seongbuk-gu District Council
As the representatives who were entrusted with the administration of Seongbuk-gu District by the district's residents, we pledge to work for the the development of our district and the welfare of our fellow residents by faithfully performing our duties according to our conscience and by upholding the honor and prestige of the District Council. To this end, we will abide by following codes of ethics:
- 1. As representatives of the residents, we shall maintain the dignity of councilor by fostering character and insight and keeping good manners, and faithfully representing the will of the people.
- 2. As volunteers in the service of the residents, we shall faithfully perform our duties and do not pursue personal interests in the spirit of public interest in order to promote the freedom and welfare of the people.
- 3. As public officials, we shall not seek dishonest gains or exert undue influence in relation to our duties and lead a clean and frugal life.
- 4. As members of the District Council, we shall strive to create a sound council environment by complying with rules and regulations, ensuring equal opportunity among members of the council, and to observe due process in solving problems with sufficient debate.
- 5. As responsible representatives of the district's residents, we shall hold ourselves accountable for all of our works to the people of Seongbuk-gu District.
